Mine clearing excavator Menzi Muck "STORM"

The Severe Terrain Off-Road Menzi Muck, or STORM, is a commercial excavator designed to remove vegetation in rough and steep terrain. Dual hydraulic pumps enable it to use a wide variety of commercial attachments. The system`s hydraulic lines are designed to shut off flow to the ruptured circuit in the event of a mine blast. The machine is equipped with an armored cab, explosion-resistant tires and many other accessories.
2008, the U.S. Defense Department in Cambodia began the evaluation of demining. STORM has cleared more than 500 mines from trenches and defensive positions since then.

Not only in emergency operations but also for unsafe construction sites, such as terminations of old buildings, the remote controlled A61 of THW Germany is used. If danger has passed, remote control is omitted and work will be completed in usual operation.

E91 electric excavator

Two E91s work in parallel at a Swiss recycling company. One machine feeds old wood into the timber shredder. The other receives and uses its grab to sort a variety of waste.

Piles

Metre-length timber piles are being rammed onto the banks of Lake Constance to create a new port facility.

Mechanical cable laying

The Menzi Muck cable plough enables pipes to be laid in a single operation, whereby trenches are dug with the attachment and the pipe is laid without interruption.
